Summary
of Disaster:
According to news reports
from the Idaho State Journal, “Wildfires affected many areas of
the state, including Bingham County. At one point, more than 30
lightning-ignited fires burned 6,500 acres within 12 hours.” The emergency
manager noted in the research interview that the storm impacted Bingham County
with $160,000 in property damage. He stated, “It wasn’t a great amount of
damage, but it involved some key infrastructure. For example, power line
transmission systems were damaged.”
